Meraki

Filterbakje 12 g

Filterbakje 12 g

The Meraki 12g Portafilter Basket is a stainless steel 58mm basket for espresso recipes that use less coffee than a standard double basket. Its perforated base supports extraction while the shallower coffee bed provides a practical starting point for smaller servings.

Treat 12g as a nominal dose and adjust for coffee density, roast and available headspace. Use it with a compatible 58mm portafilter and compare the 18g portafilter basket when you want a larger recipe.

FAQ

What is a 12g portafilter basket for?

It is intended as a starting point for smaller espresso doses than a typical 18g double basket.

Is it a 58mm basket?

Yes. The product imagery and listing identify it as a 58mm 12g basket.

Should I dose exactly 12 grams?

Not always. Adjust within a sensible range based on coffee density, roast, puck depth and headspace.

Do I need to change the grind when switching baskets?

Often yes. Basket depth and dose change puck resistance, so re-dial the grind while keeping yield and taste under observation.

How do I keep the perforations clean?

Rinse after brewing and inspect the base for blocked holes. Use approved cleaning methods when coffee oils build up.
