A café counter offered a new meeting point for the Meraki community on Saturday, 31 October 2026. At Paperboy in Melbourne’s Surrey Hills, an introduction usually made online became an opportunity to gather around coffee in person.

A Closer Look Across the Counter
Led by Sergii and Nick, the event began at 8:00 am, with two Meraki espresso machines on the counter. The gathering served 55 coffees, combining a local coffee experience with equipment demonstrations and filming.
Visitors gathered beside the machines while a demonstrator handled the portafilter, giving the event a practical focus. Rather than seeing the equipment only in product photographs, attendees could observe it within a working café environment.
For readers exploring the equipment featured at the gathering, the Meraki Espresso Machine page explains its integrated grinder, dual boilers and separate scales for coffee dose and espresso yield.

A Melbourne Stop in the Meraki Story
Paperboy / Born and Raised hosted the gathering at 1125 Riversdale Rd, Surrey Hills VIC 3127, Australia. The photographs capture both sides of the morning: visitors watching a demonstration and the event team sharing a lighter moment with portafilters in hand.
Thank you to the venue, Sergii, Nick and everyone who joined us. This Melbourne meet-up added a local, face-to-face chapter to a community connected by an interest in coffee.
