Espresso Shot Mirror

The Meraki espresso shot mirror provides a clear view beneath the portafilter while espresso is flowing. Its round mirror and adjustable ball-joint stand make it easier to observe the start, colour and symmetry of each extraction.

Use it with a 58mm bottomless portafilter to spot uneven jets, spraying or early flow that may indicate a puck-preparation issue.

FAQ

What is an espresso shot mirror used for?

It reflects the underside of the portafilter so you can watch espresso flow without bending down.

Does a shot mirror improve espresso by itself?

No. It is a diagnostic and viewing tool; grind, dose, distribution and tamping still determine extraction.

Where should I place the mirror?

Set it on the drip tray or nearby stable surface, then adjust the angle until the underside of the portafilter is visible.

Is a shot mirror useful with a spouted portafilter?

It can still show the stream, but it provides the most diagnostic detail when paired with a bottomless portafilter.

How should I clean the mirror?

Wipe splashes promptly with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the reflective surface.
