FAQ

What is a bottomless portafilter?

It holds the basket without a covered spout assembly, leaving the underside visible during extraction.

Why use a bottomless portafilter?

It provides visual feedback that can reveal uneven flow and other puck-preparation problems.

Does a bottomless portafilter improve espresso automatically?

No. It exposes extraction behaviour; you still need the correct grind, dose, distribution and tamp.

Is this a 58mm portafilter?

Yes. The product page identifies it as 58mm and offers Gen 1 and Gen 2 compatibility selections.

Why can a bottomless portafilter spray?

Spraying commonly indicates an uneven path through the puck. Recheck grind, distribution, basket fill and tamp level.
