An espresso before work, a cappuccino at breakfast, or an iced coffee later in the day can call for different tools. Meraki’s planned holiday gift offer brings together eight accessories in the Home Barista 8-Piece Kit, available with qualifying espresso machine purchases under the participating store’s terms. The set supports preparation, extraction, serving and milk texturing, so you can choose the tools that suit the drink rather than add every accessory to every routine.
Eight Accessories, Different Everyday Jobs
The kit combines tools you use before brewing with accessories for collecting espresso, observing the basket and pouring milk. This overview explains the distinction.
| Accessory | Specification | Where It Fits |
|---|---|---|
| Espresso Tamper | 58 mm; aluminium alloy and 304 stainless steel | Compresses the distributed grounds into a level puck before brewing. |
| Gravity Coffee Distributor | 58 mm; black metal | Levels the surface of loose grounds before tamping. |
| Press-Activated Rotary Needle Distribution Tool | 58 mm; metal construction with magnetic attachment | Breaks up clumps and redistributes coffee within the basket before tamping. |
| Dosing Funnel | Basket-mounted funnel | Helps keep grounds contained during transfer and distribution. |
| Espresso Puck Screen | 58.35 mm; 304 stainless steel | Sits above the tamped coffee, provided basket fit and headspace allow. |
| Stainless Steel Espresso Shot Cup | 120 ml | Collects espresso when transferring it into another cup or glass is useful. |
| Espresso Shot Mirror | Positionable observation mirror | Shows the underside of an exposed basket with a compatible bottomless setup. |
| Milk Frothing Pitcher | Milk steaming and pouring vessel | Holds milk during texturing and supports controlled pouring. |
For a Straight Espresso: Start with the Coffee Bed
For a drink served directly in an espresso cup, the preparation tools are the natural starting point. Use the funnel when transferring grounds, then work through the loose coffee with the rotary needle tool according to its instructions.
The gravity distributor has a separate role: levelling the surface. It does not prove that the coffee underneath is evenly distributed. Tamp with the portafilter securely supported and the tamper level. European Coffee Trip’s training material explains why both even density and a level surface matter for consistent coffee distribution.
Surface levelling is optional, and neither distribution tool replaces tamping. Keep your method simple enough to repeat before deciding whether another step adds value.
The puck screen is also optional. Check that it sits flat and leaves sufficient clearance beneath the shower screen. Never force the portafilter into position if an accessory interferes with fitting it.
For Cappuccino or Latte: Bring in the Pitcher
The milk frothing pitcher extends the routine beyond espresso. Start with cold milk, leave room for expansion and use a quantity appropriate for the pitcher and your machine’s steaming instructions.
Work on a smooth, integrated texture before concentrating on patterns. Swirl the milk after steaming and pour promptly. Clean and purge the steam wand as directed by the machine manufacturer.
The pitcher supports pouring control; it does not determine the milk texture on its own. Your milk choice, steam technique and practice remain part of the result.
For Iced Drinks: Use the Shot Cup When Transferring Helps
The shot cup provides a convenient intermediate vessel when your serving glass contains ice or when you assemble the drink away from the machine. For a straight espresso, brewing into your drinking cup may be simpler.
The cup’s 120 ml capacity is not an espresso recipe or a target serving size. Measure the beverage by weight when following a recipe. European Coffee Trip explains why weighing is more reliable than judging espresso volume by eye.
For Learning: Observe a Shot, Then Taste It
The mirror can make the underside of a basket visible without leaning beneath the group head. It requires a compatible bottomless portafilter; a conventional spouted portafilter obstructs that view. A bottomless portafilter is not included among the eight accessories.
Use the view as one source of feedback. Note the dose, beverage weight and extraction time, then taste the coffee. When comparing methods, keep the rest of the recipe steady. Gwilym Davies’ guide describes a taste-led approach to dialling in espresso.
Who Will Find the Kit Useful?
New home baristas can use the set to understand the separate tasks behind a drink. Espresso enthusiasts may enjoy comparing preparation methods, while cappuccino and latte drinkers can put the pitcher to regular use.
If you already own similar tools, compare fit and function first. When reviewing espresso machine accessories, check individual dimensions and machine compatibility. A 58 mm label alone does not establish universal fit.
Check the European Store’s Gift Conditions
The planned promotion pairs a complimentary Home Barista 8-Piece Kit with qualifying Meraki machine purchases. Before placing an order through the European store, confirm that the published offer covers your delivery country and selected machine or package.
- Purchase eligibility: check the qualifying model or bundle.
- Claiming the gift: follow any selection, code or other redemption instructions.
- Delivery: check how the gift is dispatched and whether it arrives separately.
- Returns: review the conditions applying to the gift if the qualifying purchase is returned.
Do not assume that an offer shown on another regional store or marketplace applies to your order. If you are choosing a machine as well, compare the Meraki Espresso Machine with your available space and preferred preparation routine.
Questions Before You Choose
Do I Have to Use Every Accessory?
No. Select tools for the task. The pitcher is for milk drinks, the shot cup helps with transfers, and the mirror needs a compatible bottomless setup.
Is the Kit a No-Purchase Giveaway?
No. The planned offer is a gift with a qualifying machine purchase. The participating store’s published terms determine eligibility.
